Very spectacular printed design, inspired by an 18th century “calicot” fabric (an Indienne design from Calicut printed on a light weight cotton) from the Indian silk road. This very well known Canovas archive document shows enlarged and stylised fruit of the cacao tree. We have decided to print it on a very heavy linen in negative to give it even more strength.
